Aren't They Inspirational?

Do you need a friend to watch your back? An inspiration to allow you to dream big? A guide to show you what your life leads? A listener who listens when you talk? A parent who understands what you feel inside? A soldier who's able to protect you from danger? Do you need a smile on your face? Or a feeling of hope? If you do, all you need to look for is a teacher.
"I am not in it for the money but for the joy to see my students like you succeed, someday", each teacher always says to his/her students. " It is truly an honor to see my students thrive and achieve their goals and dreams!"
Aren't they inspirational? Teachers. From their jobs we can say they have the most "boring" life of all the "workers" or should I say contributors. From the time they sit on their seats, and facilitate the learners into the time they stand up and dismiss every class they are assigned to, you can imagine how uninteresting your life would be if you're like them. When you see them attend to dozens of heavy classes or appointments, everyday, you can feel how tiresome their days are. When you find out how much is their monthly salaries, you can know how hard it is to earn money being one of them. But despite all of these, teachers can be seen always happy at what they do.
Like one of them once said, a teacher is not born but created by teachers also. A teacher's very mission, that is to teach, give them happiness. Another mission of a teacher is to guide his/her students and show them what really life means. As we all know, they are like sculptures who mend the destiny and future of each their students. They are also like doctors who understand what you feels inside. Furthermore, they can also contribute to you smiles and laughter. They can be friends and parents who promise to give you company whenever and wherever. Teachers can definitely do good deeds to us, students.
Teachers, therefore are heroes. We are all aware of the fact that without them, there will be no lawyers, doctors, engineers, leaders, etc. Education, the best thing that we can have, would not be contributed to us if there aren't teachers. We wouldn't know how to survive without education and knowledge that these teachers contribute to us. As we grow up to be no longer children, we will need their contributions to get the dream that we have been dreaming of. Thanks to our teachers, we will be able to live   to our success.

What Modern Heroes Are

Rizal, Bonifacio, Mabini, Del Pilar and Aguinaldo are some famous heroes of us from the old times. We are all aware of what they did for our country, that is to bring peace and freedom to it and to its men. They fought bravely to death to commit freedom and stop the suffering that colonizers brought to their countrymen. They served as models who encouraged their men to fight and warriors to our country because of those that were contributed by them. That was when we got abused and colonized by different countries, a long time ago. Today, we've got new sets of heroes. Now that we are in the modern times, we must know about them and their contributions.
These heroes aren't like Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Wonderwoman, or even The Avengers. They don't have superpowers like flying, superspeeds and superstrengths but they do have the power of their hearts and minds. These heroes serve to the development of their family and their country. They don't fight to promote and protect their land but do their job greatly to contribute with it. These heroes are what we call hopes because they carry out the future. I am obviously talking about our doctors, teachers, lawyers, etc. As we are aware of, these heroes help their nation thrive by their works. They help others especially those who needed them most. Our parents are also included in the list. As they guide their children into the right path and do everything they can for their sake, they can be called as caring heroes. We, students can also be heroes. We are the hopes for better future. Students also serve as seeds of improvement.
Heroes can not only be the ones who fight against bad guys like what we see in movies. They can be all of us. They are who help their people and beloved ones even by such in a little way.

It Comes with a Responsibility

We have finally passed the years of suffering, fear, and death, when we were once slaves of the selfish people of different countries. Our garden, when discovered, was easily colonized by swarms of locusts, which left its native bees nothing but suffering. The flowers of our garden became the food for those cruel insects, leaving the bees only their trashes to clean up.We must have been the ones who would have used the resources of our property. Now that the Pearl of the Orient Seas is free for us to look for, we will let these cruelties invade us, never again.
We found a simple but powerful weapon against colonization as we thrive through the years. Even the smallest dagger can slay the biggest giant, if we have it in our hands. Our Filipino language was once introduced to us by a brave leader, who thought of the benefits and importance of it to our nation. President Manuel L. Quezon introduced us to this dagger which represents our rights to our property and keeps peace in and out of it. As it was held up high by the next leaders since it first arose, it promised to behold not only peace but understanding between people. As a way of communication, the Filipino language has always contribute to us.
The Filipino language is indeed very important to us and our country. It is for all of us to keep and cherish, however, it comes with a responsibility that we shall need to keep.

Every Challenge Has Its Own Solution

In our Information Communications Technology or simply, ICT class, we have been discovering new ideas with regards to which its studied: COMPUTERS. From the very beginning, I was gratified for getting to start learning another set of new facts about the technology, new facts about Internet I should say. Since this is considerably the most common way of communicating to other users from around the world, it has been the main purpose of the subject. I have learned the Internet history: from how it was created to how it leveled up and be undeniably useful these days. I have also learned how to make a Blog, which we all know is a way of sharing our thoughts to other users and readers. From learning the most common parts of it, I have learned up to the most difficult and challenging in the way of doing such activities. Now I am beholding the power of the Internet.

In learning, we cannot evade the challenges that may be due to it. As a part of learning, one must learn to face and encounter them, as we all know. In our ICT class, I have encountered several difficulties one of which is the making of blogs like this one. To tell the truth, making a one single blog, isn't an easy task for every time we make one, we need to our check our grammar in order for readers to understand our points. Another challenge that i have encountered is the making of accounts. I have tried some time to create my Google account but I have encountered failures. In creating it, I needed to put on one of those boxes my cellphone number as a requirement, but when i did and press on the button below it, i didn't get a single notification on my phone. It was very frustrating but it looked like I wasn't the only one that was encountering the same problem.

Though it was very hard to look for some solutions to my problem, I was still able to find one. I have indeed found the solution to the problem that I have said a while ago. Probably, all that I needed was to look for it deeper. Since I can access an Internet connection to my phone, I decided to make a Google account with it. Viola! I have made one! In order for me to find answers to my problems, I always do my best and find them as hard as possible. Really, to never give up is the best way!

Moving on, I will try my best in the subject. I will continue with my aim to learn for I know, there are more learnings to come. Hopefully, I will be packed with knowledge with these kind of learnings. As I have said before, I will not ever be giving up for I know, every challenge has its own solution.

Our Custom Continues

Every July, there are several activities regarding the nutrition and health, thus creating it the month of Nutrition. The government as well as the school carry out projects with the mission to acquire citizens to promote their health knowing that is it most important to achieve. In partial to the said mission, the school got its own STEP Club to hold the responsibility of shouting out the facts for students to know about better health. This July, the club with the theme , " Pagkain ng Gulay Ugaliin, Araw- Araw itong Ihain" implements several activities in action to their mission.

Health as we know it must not be taken aback. According to health institutes, to be able to stay fit and healthy, one must have the nutrients and vitamins from veggies. The goodness from veggies especially the green and leafy ones, was proven to promote the nutrition as well as the health of the body and its organs. Aside from this advantage, vegetables also remain as very effective source of medicine for they contain also vast medicinal properties. That is why vegetables can be considered as the best and the biggest source of better nutrition. Nutrition as we know it, is elevated to restore our health. As the biggest contributors of our nutrition, vegetables are requirements for everybody, notably for the youngsters. Having the countless advantages of vegetables that we can behold, we can be of strong aspect on prolonging our life and conflicting diseases and infirmity.

As said, vegetables are musts for our betterment. Continuing with our custom, we hope for the development of our knowledge regarding our health.

I Am Still NOT Convinced!

The third State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino as done on the 23rd day of July was said to be his best by many Filipino citizens. By listening to this speech of the President, many Filipino got their hearts somehow caught and enlightened. They witnessed the act and suddenly, praised for the speaker. Through the said speech, the once “haters”, now become “fans”. The President's SONA has indeed changed the insight of his country. However, few have the opposite verdict, still. One of these “few”, in fact is I.

Though I don’t have the same opinion about PNOY’s SONA, I may not still be considered as one of them, the “haters”. I am just as concerned as a citizen is for his own country. I am longing for the country to strive, like every citizen does and for I have the right to speak out my thoughts, I have also the responsibility to help in just simple ways: that is, to share my understanding, to criticize and to give suggestions. Because the SONA was taken place during our class hours, I missed listening to its full structure. As partial to knowing what the President has been making himself busy of, I have read and understand his full SONA with the aid of the Internet.

Finally now, I understand why PNOY had gained more trust from the countrymen. In my opinion, PNOY had concentrated too much in letting them know the “great” things he has done. He has therefore forgotten to say something about the “failures” of his administration. I agree and believe some when they say that he has done many things for the country, but the fact is, I don’t believe much that these can remain stable in the case that these “projects” of him are almost the same as GMA’s. What I am trying to say is that if GMA’s projects didn’t last long, how come PNOY’s can remain? It seemed as if PNOY has concentrated himself to conflicting with corruption.

For me, it would have been better if he has told ALL about his administration even though most are not so good enough and stated how he would try and change them. It wasn’t enough to just say what had been great. PNOY would have earned more trust if he could have done his promises keeping them always on his sight. I mean, if he is doing a project he must need to watch for it all the time.

Frankly, I wasn’t yet convinced. I would like to see further improvement in the country. Perhaps PNOY needs to act more about it. Though I didn’t like his SONA, I still think it improved a little. I need not to shout out my opinion for I know some of you, readers have understood it. All that I am hoping now is for the country to grow up and to be developed.

To PNOY

Ilocos Sur National High School
Vigan City
July 3, 2012

Dear Mr. President,

I've been wanting to write to you for a long time. Just so you know, I am a loyal citizen of your country, a young one. I am just one of the fourth-year students of Ilocos Sur National High School who are wanting his or her country to be undergoing development. I highly respect that you are the one who has been chosen to lead the country of us, Filipinos, but honestly I don't like you at all. Sorry for telling you this Mr. President but I don't think you are capable enough to be at your position. Don't question me for what I am about to tell you because I know that even though you are a highly respected person, you still deserve to be criticized. I have no intention to hurt your feelings by my letter but I just want you to know what I think about your administration. Sorry for this, but frankly, I just need to tell you the truth.

What were you thinking when you developed that "K+12" program? Haven't you came to think of its effects towards your people? We all know the fact that there is a bigger percentage of poor families than rich ones. What I am trying to say is that in this program of yours, the betterment of education is not only what is talked about but also the current state of living in this country. Don't the country need to be improved first before opening the project? I think that "K+12" of yours will be just a burden to the children's education and will not last long. Even what they say that a student who might finish the twelfth grade can get a job, cannot be proven because the government will not be able to give him or her a proper job. Many jobs must be developed first for the sake of better living for your people, isn't it? Why don't you make projects that can really help in the betterment of your country? Also get over with that "World Peace" thing or whatsoever that you are promoting because I think it is not very useful. Is it the reason why you keep visiting countries or you just want to travel the world for fun. Is it even true that our country belongs to the top five improved countries in peacefulness? Can't the menace to our society not visible enough? I think that that honor is just a lie because peacefulness is not yet apparent to our country. There are lots of projects that can contribute richly to us, why don't you try to recognize them?

You might be thinking that I am too confused to be telling all this to you, or that I am to young to understand the condition of the civilization. The only purpose of this letter is to wake you up by informing you the circumstances. I am not just exaggerating about everything that I am saying in this note, just so you know, because what I am telling you is my own opinion. Again I am sorry for I might have caused you a slight pinch , but Mr. President, I want to see change in our country.

                                                                                                      Very Respectfully Yours,
Hannah Gem Vitamog
